La Herradura
La Herradura es un pequeño pueblo costero en la provincia de Granada. La Herradura, se encuentra enclavada en una bahía en el Mar Mediterráneo. En su límite oriental esta la "Punta de la Mona", una zona residencial salpicada de villas de lujo y unas vistas impresionantes de Almuñécar, La Herradura y el puerto de Marina del Este. Al oeste se encuentra Cerro Gordo, que ha sido declarado Parque Natural en los años 80 por la Junta de Andalucía, para proteger y desarrollar la fauna y la flora. La Herradura es el último pueblo de la provincia de Granada limitando con la provincia de Málaga ¿Por qué venir a La Herradura? El turismo de masas no ha afectado a La Herradura y este pequeño pueblo conserva su encanto y la belleza de la bahía que alberga sus increíbles playas. Es un lugar relajante. La Herradura es el lugar ideal para practicar deportes acuáticos, pesca, buceo, parapente y senderismo. Las actividades acuáticas también están dirigidas a niños a través de talleres de verano para aprender a bucear o navegar. Almunecar está a cinco minutos, y ofrece un gran abanico de posibilidades (parque acuático, acuario, parque de aves, Peña Escrita -16kms (Reserva Natural donde hay un parque zoológico de animales en semi libertad) La vida nocturna es más tranquilo, pero no faltan bares de tapas, restaurantes y pubs con ambiente. Cada fin de semana, se celebran conciertos aquí y allá. La Herradura
La Herradura is a small town belonging to Almuñecar. It is situated around a bay on the southern coastline of Granada province. On the eastern side of town is the famous Punta de la Mona (a luxury residential area with fantastic views to the bay), Almuñecar the sea, and the Marina. On the western side is Cerro Gordo, declared a natural park in the 80's due to the fauna and vegetation interest. La Herradura is on the border of Malaga province, very close to Maro and Nerja. Why visit? La Herradura offers quality of life; it is not a conventional tourist destination. This is the right place to relax and enjoy beautiful beaches surrounded by the mountains. It is also only 4 km. from the motorway giving swift access to neighbouring towns such as Nerja and Almuñecar, and also the cities of Granada and Málaga. It has its own marina (named “Marina del Este”), the right spot to practice a wide range of watersports. Watersports, fishing, diving, paragliding, hiking, trekking, horseriding and adventure sports. Children's activities in the sea like sailing or diving courses. Almuñecar (only 5 km. away) offers an Aquarium, a Water Park, a Bird Park (“Loro Sexi”) and the Natural Reserve of Peña Escrita( 16 km.), a natural animal reserve right on the sierra, where animals are partly-free. La Herradura is a small and quiet place but it has some pubs with a nice atmosphere opening till late at night. Some of them offer live music on weekends.
